On 2017 Nov.28^th, President Liu liehong had a meeting with John Edwards, the British consul in Shanghai, and exchanged opinions about the cooperation between British government and enterprises in the smart city field.

John Edwards introduced the ideas and challenges of the construction of smart city in British. He said that British government and enterprises would like to cooperate with CETC in smart city and other emerging industries, and expressed wishes to take part in the construction of three pilot smart cities.

Liu Liehong welcomed the consul and other officials and introduced the cooperation and communication with Catapult Centers of Innovation UK, the University of Surrey and the University of Manchester, as well as the circumstances of domestic smart city construction. He presented that the CETC plans to establish representative office in British, and hopes to cooperate with UK government, to provide a communication platform for the British urban administrators and Chinese entrepreneurs.    

Through communication, the two sides made it clear to enhance cooperation in new technology and new industries, especially the field of smart city.

The project director of Prospective Fund Aidan Darker, the officials of the International Trade Ministry of British Embassy and the Project Department of Prospective Fund, the officials of the Industry Department and the International Business Department of the CETC attended the meeting.
